Q1How do I send a color reference?
Physical swatch by mail is best. Second best: daylight photo of hair against a white card, plus Pantone or L'Oreal code. Third best: photo alone (approximate match only).
Q6Can you match a color from a photo alone?
Approximate match only. Photo lighting, camera calibration, and your monitor all shift color perception. We can quote a ΔE < 3.5 approximate match from a photo, but a physical swatch or Pantone code delivers ΔE < 2.0.
Q10How is a custom color developed differently from a standard color?
Standard colors are pulled from our 400+ shade library. Custom colors go through our color lab: spectrometer read of your reference swatch, formulation development (4–10 dye components), test strand production, spectrometer verification (ΔE < 2.0), and your approval before batch production.
Q11Can I request a color palette across a multi-length product family?
Yes. Custom color palettes can span multiple SKUs. Color match is applied at the dye batch level, so a "Rich Sable" palette can be produced across 18″/20″/22″/24″ tape-in and matching hand-tied weft. Reserve capacity for family launches 3 months ahead.
Q12How do custom color batches age vs. standard colors?
Custom-toned Remy fades at essentially the same rate as standard-toned Remy: minimal fade with correct care through 4–6 months on tape-in, longer on hand-tied. Custom fashion colors (pastel, vivid) fade 2–3x faster on bleached base hair.
Q7How stable is your custom color across reorder batches?
Custom color formulations are filed in the lab under your account. Reorder batches spectrometer-matched to the original swatch. Cross-batch tolerance is ΔE < 2.0 with 99% of batches inside ΔE < 1.5 in H1 2026.
Q8Do fashion colors (pastel, vivid) fade faster than natural?
Yes. Fashion colors on bleached base hair fade 2–3x faster than natural tones. Expect noticeable fade at week 4–6 vs week 12+ for natural colors. Include this in your salon consultation script.
Q9Can I lock a custom color under my brand name exclusively?
Yes, on signed private label contract with 12-month volume commitment (500+ packs/year per color). Locked color stays exclusive to your brand and cannot be ordered by any other buyer during the commitment period.
Q2What is ΔE?
ΔE is the numerical color difference between two samples measured by spectrometer. Below 2.0 is imperceptible to human eye. VeeJeen holds every batch to ΔE < 2.0.
Q3Can I lock my custom color under my brand?
Yes, on private label contract. Your color is filed in the lab under your brand and cannot be ordered by other buyers.
Q4Do you match rooted / balayage colors?
Yes. Send us a hair-in-daylight photo showing the root-to-tip transition. We match tones and blend zone in the lab.
Q5What about fashion colors (pastel, vivid)?
Available. Requires bleached base hair (extra 2 days) and specialized dye. Turnaround +7–10 days. Fade schedule differs from natural colors — see spec sheet.
